Welcome to the
website of This website was set up to provide information about all aspects of handpress printing, including practical presswork, printers, their publications, and useful hints regarding the craft. I have personally heard from many viewers that this page has helped them in perfecting their craft, and I am grateful that I could be of some small help and encouragement to them. As you may have noticed I have not updated this site in more than four years. This is due in part to the fact that I no longer have the energy or the inclination to continue it. I stopped printing many years ago. In April, I’ll be eighty and am now incapable of pursuing the rigorous requirements of handpress printing. Oak Knoll Press has remaindered my two books on printing. They were sold to Powell’s in Portland, OR.
